PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a rectangular irradiation area and to prevent irregular illumination from occurring by making the reflection surfaces of a light emitting part include a reflector having nearly pyramid shape and a flash discharge tube where a discharge path divided into plural discharge spaces and connected in series inside an envelope is formed. SOLUTION: The light emitting part H forms a rectangular aperture 6 at the bottom side parts of nearly triangular shape of four reflection surfaces 2 to 5 presenting the nearly triangular shape. Then, it is equipped with the reflector 1 having the nearly pyramid shape constituted by connecting the reflection surfaces so as to approach to each other through four ridge lines 1A to 1D so that an aperture 7 may be formed at the end on the top side of the nearly triangular shape opposed to the aperture 6. The flash discharge tube 8 is attached to the aperture 7. In the tube 8, a pair of main electrodes is adjacently arranged at one end of the envelope and also the discharge path obtained by dividing the inside of the envelope into four discharge spaces 13 to 16 connected in series by a dividing body and connecting them in series in the envelope is formed.
