<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a high-output discharge and cycle characteristics by carrying out chemical charge after a sulfate containing a binder and an alkaline or alkaline earth metal is added to a powder mix containing mixture powder of lead and lead oxide as a main constituent, and paste prepared by dispersing and kneading them in a nonaqueous solvent is filled in a lead alloy collector. SOLUTION: A binder for binding active materials together is rich in water repellency, becomes non-porous when a film of the binder is formed on the surface of an electrode plate and prevents a sulfuric acid from easily permeating in the inside of the active material. By adding the sulfate of the alkaline and alkaline earth metals to the active material, the sulfate dissolves simultaneously with the injection of the sulfuric acid, and voids are produced on the surface and inside the active material, so that a porous electrode plate can be provided. Preferably, polyvinylidene fluoride or its derivative, and n-methylpyrrolidone or its derivative are used for the binder and for the nonaqueous solvent, respectively.</p> |
