A LIFTING AND TRANSPORTING DEVICE FOR DISABLED PERSONS

A lifting and transporting device for disabled persons comprises a base member (1, 33) and an upright (2, 32) which extends from the base member and comprises a plurality of mounting means (3). The mounting means (3), which may be positioned at different positions along the height of the upright, are adapted to receive one or more assisting members (i.a. 30, 50, 51, 52, 70, 80, 90) for carrying or otherwise assisting a disabled person. The device may comprise lifting means for lifting and lowering the upright in relation to the base member. An assisting member may comprise a seat (34) or a backrest (35). The seat (34) may comprise a seating surface rotatably mounted on a ring-shaped member (39). A torso lifting device, a bed and methods for assisting a disabled person are described.
