532,635. Swash-plate pumps. ANSALDO SOC. ANON. Sept. 15, 1939, No. 25945. Convention date, Sept. 22, 1938. [Class 102 (i)] A rotor 16, formed with cylinder bores 17 parallel to the axis, turns on a fixed cylindrical pivot 5 having inlet and outlet passages 10, 11 leading to passages 6, 7 in the outer casing, and carries a pivot 19 driven through a clutch. The pistons are driven from a ring in a cup 22 adjustably inclinable by a handle 26 to vary the amount or reverse the direction of flow. The fluid thrust in the cylinders, which is transmitted to the bearing surfaces 27 is compensated by an equalizing chamber 30 at the base of the recess enclosing the pivot 5, to which chamber fluid under pressure is led through a passage controlled by a piston valve 32 moved by the delivery pressure. |
