<p>The invention relates to an ultra-low carbon steel having the following composition: C < 40 ppm; N < 40 ppm; 3 ppm < B < 20 ppm; Mn, Si and P as alloying elements; inevitable impurities; an amount of Ti and Nb for which the following applies: Ti/48 + Nb/93 > (C - 0.0015)/12 + N/14 + S/32 (in % by weight); remainder Fe; with a yield point Rp of between 180 MPa and 400 MPa, where Rp > 160 + 40 Mn + 80 Si + 1000 P (in % by weight), and where the percentage of recrystallised grains is greater than 95 % and less than 99.7 % or where the steel has a microstrain of less than 0.05 %. The invention also relates to a process for obtaining a high-strength, ultra-low carbon steel.</p> |
