<p>A terminal receives a specific signal transmitted from a base station of a cellular system, and the terminal performs positioning based on the base station information stored in the terminal. Specifically, a terminal (1) is provided with a memory (6), in which the position of a base station and the transmission timing information of a specific signal are stored. The timings of reception of signals from at least three stations are measured, and the position of the terminal is estimated from the differences between the transmission timing information and the timings of the received signals. Transmission, which consumes power greatly, from the terminal is decreased, and therefore the life of the battery of the terminal is prevented from being shortened.</p> |
