The method involves calling up the track elements (BU1,W,BU2) or groups of track elements in a sequence defined according to their geographic arrangement along the track along which the train is travelling. If the call-up time (t5) for a track element (W) defined by its minimum call-up time (TW) is later than that (t4) of a geographically more distant track element (BU2), the track element with the shorter call-up time has an offset applied that causes the call-up time (t2) to be earlier than the call-up time (t4) for the track element with the longer call-up time.
