PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a top clearance above an elevator car. SOLUTION: This device includes a counterweight 52 that rises and falls on the side of an elevator car 54 opposite to doors 57, a first return wheel 53 for the counterweight, a thin hoist 49 disposed at the top of the counterweight side of a shaft and having the secondary side of a motor integrated with a sheave part, second and third return wheels 55, 56 provided on the car 54, and an elevator rope 25 fixed at one end to the shaft top and fixed at the other end to the shaft top by way of the return wheel 53 of the counterweight 52, the hoist 49, and the return wheels 55, 56. Further, a brake device 7a is disposed in a space between the car and the wall of the shaft in the plan view of the shaft. |
