PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the depth size over the entire part and to stabilize the open state of door by providing the washing machine with an outer box having a wash outlet and inlet port and the door for opinion and closing this port and a drum rotatably disposed to a forward uphill inclined state within a water tank at its front surface and inclining the door at an angle different from the angle of the front surface part of the drum. SOLUTION: The drum-like water tank 2 is disposed within the outer box 1 constituting a rectangular box shape as a whole and is elastically supported in the forward uphill inclined state on the base surface part of the outer box 1 by means of a pair of right and left suspensions 3. The drum 11 is housed in this water tank 2. The drum 11 is arranged to the forward uphill inclined state like the water tank 2 and is freely rotatably supported. The wash inlet and outlet port 36 formed at the front surface part 1a of the outer box 1 is freely openably and closably provided with the door 37. The door 37 is disposed to incline diagonally upwardly at the angle ofθ2 with the perpendicular plane in a closed state. As a result, the overhanging accompanying the inclination of the drum 11 in the lower part of the front surface part 1a of the outer box 1 is suppressed and the depth size over the entire part is reduced.
