PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening and closing device for a coupler cover capable of easily opening and closing, by a single worker, a cover body increased in size and remarkably increased in weight, having a simple structure, capable of installing in a rather small space, and also capable of being reduced in weight. SOLUTION: An opening and closing device of a coupler cover comprises a cover main body 2 formed of a hollow cylindrical body having an opening 4 provided at the front head part and rear head part of a body 1A and allowing a coupler 6 to project forward so as to expose the coupler, a rear end opening corresponding to the opening 4, and a top end opening allowing a cap to be installed detachably, a worm gear jack 13 moving up and down the cover main body 2 between an upper position where, even when the cover main body 2 is turned rearward about the upper end of the rear end opening of the cover main body, the cover main body 2 does not interfere with the body 1A and the position of the opening 4 of the body 1A, a swing device swinging the cover main body 2, at the upper position, about the upper end of the rear end opening rearward by approximately 180 deg. and also swinging the cover main body 2 forward by approximately 180 deg. to return to the original position, and a set-up gear 30 provided at least on one side of the body 1A and supplying a drive power to the jack 13 and the swing device through a manual rotating handle 33.
