PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the section related to a heater of a heater heating type heating device for an electric rice cooker containable within a range of the height dimension of the heating plate, and miniaturize the electric rice cooker using the heating device. SOLUTION: An internal parallel arranged section 25 is formed at one end section of a heater 15 being cast in a heating plate 14, and at the same time, an external parallel arranged section 27 is formed at the other end section for this heating device for an electric rice cooker. In such a heating device, the internal parallel arranged section 25 is arranged in a manner to be flush with a heater arc section 23, and at the same time, the heater tip end section 24 of the internal parallel arranged section 25 is bent and projected to the outside of the heating plate 14. Also, the external parallel arranged section 27 is bent and made to go across the top of the internal parallel arranged section 25, and the heater tip end section 26 of the external parallel arranged section 27 is bent and projected to the outside of the heating plate 14 in a manner to be with the internal parallel arranged section 25.
