PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a formable sealing material composition capable of securing water tightness in connection of an outer plate of vehicle, providing a coated face of sealing material having the same qualities of coating film appearance and durability of coating film as those of other common outer plate parts, and to provide a sealing method for using the formable sealing material composition. SOLUTION: This formable sealing material composition comprises (a) 100 pts.wt. of a liquid epoxy resin, (b) 5-100 pts.wt. of a thermal activation type curing agent for an epoxy resin, (c) 10-50 pts.wt. of polymer powder consisting essentially of a 1-12C alkyl group-containing acrylic acid ester and/or methacrylic acid ester and (d) 10-250 pts.wt. of an inorganic filler. In the sealing method comprising arranging a formable sealing material on a connection part of an outer plate of vehicle which is undercoated or undercoated followed by intermediate coating, coating the whole connection part and sealing the connection part, a process for extending the formable sealing material composition, then preheating the composition to give a pseudo-curable sheet as a formable sealing material, arranging the formable sealing material on a connection part of an outer plate, applying an external force to the formable sealing material, leveling the formable sealing material and carrying out a coating is included.
