PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fairly reliable hermetic compressor which is capable of preventing sliding portions of a piston and a cylinder from wearing down by easily forming an oil film between the sliding portions, and also sufficiently supplying oil to the sliding portions to prevent the sliding portions from running out of oil. SOLUTION: This hermetic compressor has a hermetic container, a crankshaft, an electric motor, a connecting rod 6 for transmitting driving force of the crankshaft to a piston 11 as a compressing element, and a piston pin 12 including a piston pin-oil filling port 13 communicated to an oil supplying communication passage 9 formed in the connecting rod 6, for supplying lubricating oil to sliding portions of a cylinder 10 and the piston 11. The piston 11 undergoes reciprocating motion in the cylinder 10 to thereby repeat compression- action and non-compression-action. In the non-compression-action, a gap for communicating between the piston pin-oil filling port 13 of the piston pin 12 and the inside of the hermetic container is formed between the piston 11 and the cylinder 10.
