PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an injection capable of being administered as an intravenous drip and/or an intravenous injection as it is, enabling rapidity of scan in being used to be improved, enabling foreign material mixing in, excess administration or the like to be prevented and also excellent in safety by dissolving theophylline and sodium chlorine in injectable water. SOLUTION: This injection comprises (A) 0.05-0.5% (W/V) [preferably 0.1-0.2% (W/V)] theophylline and (B) sodium chloride alone for isotonization. The injection is prepared by dissolving respective defined amounts of ingredients A and B in injectable water, by filtering the solution with a membrane filter, preferably by filling the filtrate into a plastic bag, and by sterilizing it in a sealed state. For example, a parenteral injection containing 0.1% (W/V) theophylline is obtained by adding 200 g of the ingredient A and 1,800 g of the ingredient B to injectable water, by agitating/dissolving them to form a solution having a total volume of 2,000 L, by filtering the solution with a membrane filters having pore sizes of 0.65μm, 0.45μm and 0.2μm in order, by deviding and filling the final filtrate into containers and by sealing and sterilizing.
