PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the work of making a road surface mark by forming a hole for a template for a road mark in a flexible heat resistant sheet material and by using a template with a protective film on the surface and a mobile paint applicator. SOLUTION: A hole 11a having a shape of road mark is made in a sheet material 11 having flexibility and heat resistance, a protective film 12 made of a fluororesin or the like is formed on the whole surface and a template 10 for road surface mark is prepared. The template 10 is spread at a predetermined position on the road surface, primer is applied through the hole 11a, a carriage loaded with a coating machine and a paint storing container is moved on the template 10, a paint heated to about 200 deg.C is flowed to the hole 11a, and the thickness of the paint is made uniform with a regulating plate. In the early period of hardening of the paint, the temperate 10 is peeled off and a road surface indication is formed. The paint stuck to the temperate is peeled off through the protective film 12 and then removed. In this way, the road surface mark-forming work is simplified and the efficiency in the dangerous work on the road surface can be enhanced.
