PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the interference due to splashes of a water jet between adjacent rubber rollers and to simultaneously perform stripping of a lot of the rollers without lowering stripping capacity and in a space saving manner and also to prevent the end part and the core metal of the rubber rolls from being deteriorated to perform stripping with good efficiency. SOLUTION: In this method, an upper, outer surface of a rubber roll 1 is coated with paint, and the paint coating layers of plural rubber rolls are stripped by water jets 12. In this case, by a partition plate 11 fitted between the adjacent rubber rolls 1, splashes of the water jet 12 from one rubber roller 1 adjacent to the other are prevented from reaching the other rubber roller 1 adjacent to the one and the water jet 12.
