PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the temperature of an ear drum with satisfactory reproducibility. SOLUTION: This clinical thermometer is provided with an intra-ear hole temperature measuring means 3, plural replaceable probes 2a, a probe adaptability deciding means 4 and a reporting means 5. Then, the means 4 is composed of an intra-ear hole temperature value comparing means 13 for comparing the highest value or an average value of a temperature value in the ear hole of a prescribed number of measuring times concerning plural probes 2 with that of another probe and an intra-ear hole temperature value variation judging means for judging the variation of the temperature value in the ear hole of the prescribed number of measuring times concerning the plural probes 2. Then, the adaptability of the probe 2 is reported by deciding the adaptability of the probe 2 from a fudging result by at least the means 13 and the means 14. Thus, a user can easily select a prove capable of correctly measuring the temperature of an ear drum in accordance with the individual difference in external auditory canals.
