METHOD OF OPERATION FOR HANGING MAIN ROPE OF 2:1 ROPING ELEVATOR AND MAIN ROPE GUIDE DEVICE THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating method for a 2:1 roping elevator whereby rope hanging work can be performed safely and reliably by a small number of workers and a main rope guide device suitable for use in such main rope hanging work. SOLUTION: A main rope 12 extended from a wire drum 1 installed on the landing of the uppermost floor is wound on the sheave 4 and the deflector wheel 5 of a hoist 3, and after being passed through a rope brake 10 the main rope 12 is wound on the guide part of a rope guide device 11, which is in turn hung down along a counterweight guide rail 7b by means of its own roller. After the rope guide device 11 hung down to a predetermined position is held by the guide rail 7b by means of its clamping mechanism, the main rope 12 removed from the rope guide device 11 is wound on a counterweight sling wheel 9a located at the bottom of an elevator shaft 13.
