PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair lifter which can be smoothly moved in and out without stopping on the rear floor of an automobile. SOLUTION: Guide rails 2 each with a slider 1 mounted therein in such a way as to be capable of reciprocation by an actuator A are laid near both sides of a floor, and a guide plate 5 having a pin guide groove 4 and an upward rack 3 is provided along each guide rail 2. A holder part 10 is provided at the rear end of a wheelchair base 8 and the lower end of a lift arm 9 is attached thereto. The lift arm 9 is provided with two of inner and outer pin guide grooves 12, 13 and a downward rack 11, and a link arm 19 having a link pinion 20 axially attached to its middle and having a terminal driven pin 15 and a middle driven pin 16 both secured to its terminal and a driving pin 17 secured to its rear end is connected at its rear end to the slider 1 by bringing the link pinion 20 into engagement between both racks 3, 11, fitting the driving pin 17 into the pin guide groove 4, and fitting the terminal driven pin 15 and the middle driven pin 16 respectively into the inner and outer pin guide grooves 12, 13.
