PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent seizure due to defective lubrication of a bearing for a small gear by providing a groove extending in the circumferential direction in a large-diameter side non-track surface part of an outer ring inner peripheral surface of a conical roller bearing for a small gear. and providing an elastic member for holding lubricating oil in the groove to form a lubricating oil reservoir of the inside of the bearing. SOLUTION: A rolling bearing device for a small gear is a conical rolling bearing, and formed by an outer ring 23, an inner ring 24, many conical rollers 25 interposed between the inner and outer rings, and a retainer 26 for retaining the conical rollers 25. In a large-diameter side non-track surface part of the inner peripheral surface of the outer ring 23, a peripheral groove 28 is formed extending over the whole periphery, and an annular elastic member 29 such as rubber or the like is fitted in the peripheral groove 28 to form a lubricating oil reservoir. Even during stopping of operation such as vehicle stop or the like, lubricating oil is stayed and held in the bearing, thereby enabling initial lubrication at the start of operation. Even in a cold district, seizure due to defective lubrication can be prevented.
