The invention relates to a plastic wheel comprising two or more components connected to each other. The wheel sections are moulded separately e.g. by injection moulding fibre reinforced thermoplastic pellets. Each connected area has a moulded thread, allowing the components to be screwed into each other. Joints are finally secured by bonding, welding or mechanical means. USE/ADVANTAGE - The plastic wheel can replace steel automotive wheels, has improved dimensional accuracy, good properties, is light and can be mass produced. |
