PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method by which JPEG-compressed pictures can be decompressed and outputted after high-speed correction. SOLUTION: In this picture processing device and method, a picture processor which decompresses and outputs JPEG-compressed pictures finds the correction information on an original JPEG-compressed picture on the basis of the thumbnail picture, corresponding to the original JPEG-compressed picture by means of a correction information preparing device 6 and corrects the original picture data obtained by decompressing the original JPEG-compressed picture by means of a JPEG decompressor 2, on the basis of the correction information by means of a picture-correcting device 3. |
