PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an onboard speech recognition device capable of preventing degradation of driver's attentiveness, keeping a recognition rate constant and high under any running condition, and satisfying an operator's operation timing sense. SOLUTION: This onboard speech recognition device 10 comprises a voice recognition part 11 executing a recognition process of an inputted voice, and a microcomputer (a control part) 15 executing a response process, i.e., generation and output of a control signal according to a voice content recognized by the voice recognition part 11. The microcomputer 15 has a time adjustment means 15a adjusting a response time necessary for the response process according to a running condition of a vehicle.
