PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the load of a magnetic head in its actually loaded state by detecting the intensity of an electric signal sent from a pseudo cartridge to be inserted/pulled out from a removable magnetic recorder, and having a load sensor inside, and then converting it into a load value. SOLUTION: A load sensor 3 incorporated in a pseudo cartridge 4 is adjusted beforehand to be positioned for the loading of a magnetic head 2 when the pseudo cartridge 4 is fixed inside a removable magnetic recorder 1. For measuring the load of the magnetic head 2, first the pseudo cartridge 4 is fixed inside the removable magnetic recorder 1. Then, when the magnetic head 2 is loaded, the load sensor 3 is distorted, and an electric signal by this distortion is sent from the load sensor 3 to a converter 5. This converter 5 converts the electric signal into a load value, and this load value is outputted from an output device 6. This measuring is carried out continuously or intermittently according to a necessity.
