PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microprocessor for avoiding a critical path which cannot be predicted at the time of design without changing any hardware, and for continuously realizing evaluation for the detection of the next critical path, and a method for evaluating this microprocessor. SOLUTION: In a microprocessor for processing the pipeline stage of each instruction in parallel under pipe line control, stall factor detecting circuits 1-3-1-15 for stalling the processing of each instruction are provided in each pipe line stage. When the stall factor detection circuits 1-3-1-15 detect the stall instruction, the processing of the instruction which is being executed is stalled.
