PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mutually bring optical fibers into contact to connect them without using a male connector having a coil spring by preparing leaf springs, which exert a force pulling a ferrule into a female connector side on the projected part of the male connector, in the female connector when the male connector is combined to the female connector. SOLUTION: When a male connector 2 is combined to a female connector 3, a ferrule 12 is inserted into a segmental sleeve 24 provided in the female connector 3, and the male connector 2 is pushed into the female connector 3 side. At this time, a projected part 13 provided in the male connector 2 comes into contact with first parts 22a of leaf springs 22, and the leaf springs 22 are widened by a pressurizing force from the projected part 13. Further, the male connector 2 is pushed until the projected part 13 passes the main body 21 side end of the first parts 22a of the leaf springs 22. At this time, the projected part 13 comes into contact with second parts 22b of the leaf springs 22, and a force pulling the ferrule 12 into the female connector 3 side is exerted on the projected part 13 by repulsion of the leaf springs 22.
