摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a device and reduce adjustment man-hours of an optical system. SOLUTION: A rare earth doped optical fiber 21 is used as a laser medium. The rare earth doped optical fiber 21 is maintained in the state or preliminary pumping, by using light energy from a first semiconductor laser 22A for stimulation. At marking operation, a high stimulated state is obtained by using a second semiconductor laser 22B for stimulation, a laser pulse is inputted from a semiconductor laser 10 for signal and amplified in the rare earth doped optical fiber 21, and high power laser is outputted. Since the rare earth doped optical fiber 21 can be bent, miniaturization is enabled while securing sufficient optical path length in the laser medium, e.g. by winding the optical fiber 21 around a bobbin. Since installation of optical components, such as a mirror and a Q switch at both end portions of the laser medium is unnecessary, miniaturization of a laser oscillator part is enabled from this viewpoint also, and adjustment of the optical system can be dispensed with.</p>
