PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color reproducing system having a color image processor for converting a spectral reflection factor image into three stimulus value images under observing illumination light without using a spectophotometer. SOLUTION: In the color reproducing system consisting of a three-stimulus value calculation device 5 for calculating three stimulus values X, Y, Z under observing illumination light corresponding to the spectral reflection factor of a subject 1 which is found out by a spectral reflection factor calculation device 4 and a color image signal calculation device 9 for calculating output color image signals R', G', B' on the basis of the values X, Y, Z, the device 5 converts the spectral reflection factor image data F of the subject 1 into three stimulus value image data X, Y, Z under the observing illumination light by using the spectral reflection factor data of a color chip 6 consisting of plural unit color chips, color chip image data P' obtained by photographing the color chip P by a digital camera 8 under the observing illumination light and the spectral sensitivity data and color matching function data of the camera 8.
