<p>A method which comprises: a first gravity separation step in which plastics lighter than a first specific-gravity threshold (P1) are separated from mixed crushed plastics by the gravity separation method; a step in which the specific-gravity threshold (P1) to be used in the first gravity separation step is determined from a specific-gravity distribution of the light plastics to be separated; and a bromine-containing-plastic removal step in which the separated light plastics are irradiated with X rays emitted from an X-ray source, the transmitted X rays which have passed through the separated light plastics are detected by an X-ray transmission detector, data on the detection of transmitted X-rays are analyzed, and bromine-containing plastics are removed from the separated light plastics based on the presence or absence of bromine, i.e., based on signals from a data process unit which determines whether or not bromine is present in the separated light plastics.</p> |
