PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger, capable of charging quickly, efficiently and simultaneously a plurality of batteries. SOLUTION: This charger has a power supply portion 110 for applying a charging current I and a charging voltage V to a plurality of batteries B1, B2 connected in series with each other, a current control portion 130 for controlling the charging current I outputted from the power supply portion 110, a voltage control portion 140 for controlling the charging voltage V outputted from the power supply portion 110, a plurality of switches S1, S2 for performing on/off applications of the charging current I and the charging voltage V to the plurality of batteries B1, B2 each of which is connected in parallel with each of the plurality of batteries B1, B2, and a controlling portion 200 for controlling the operations of the current controlling portion 130, the voltage controlling portion 140, and the plurality of switches S1, S2, and having the function of measuring respective battery voltages E1, E2 in the plurality of batteries B1, B2.
