PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing an electrophotographic photoreceptor which makes it possible obtain good image printing quality by coating application formation of a layer which is free of coating application defects to be the cause for image printing defects and is uniform over the entire surface of a conductive substrate. SOLUTION: This process for producing the electrophotographic photoreceptor is a process for producing the electrophotographic photoreceptor by immersing a conductive substrate into a coating application tank, then pulling up the substrate to form a coating layer on its surface, in which the coating liquid is forcibly discharged from the coating application tank at the time of immersion of the conductive substrate in such a manner that the coating liquid surface or overflow amount of the coating application tank is kept constant at all times and the coating liquid is forcibly supplied to the coating application tank at the time of pulling up of the conductive substrate.
