PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an ammonia absorption type refrigerating device compact. SOLUTION: A horizontal shell and tube type absorber 25 is remarkably decreased in the sectional area occupied by a heat transfer pipe group by the decrease of the diameter of a heat transfer tube and improvement of performance. The lower part of a drum body is usable as a solution receiver and an external solution receiver is eliminated. A condenser 23 and an evaporator 24 use a plate type heat-exchanger, resulting in reduction of size. The constitution element of a refrigerating cycle is divided into upper and lower parts which are mounted on a frame body 31, and it can be made compact on the whole.
