An incubation container (I) comprising a carrier plate, a cover and a seal, such that the upper side of the plate, the cover and the seal together form an openable, enclosed chamber for incubating an object carrier, is new. The chamber contains at least one reservoir and at least two carrier elements for holding the object carrier above the upper side of the plate. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) incubation apparatus comprising (I); and (2) an incubation method using (I).
