PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer reception of facsimile to a user who is near facsimile equipment of transfer destination and to speedily announce a feeding state by transmitting at least one kind of information from among call originating telephone numbers, the abbreviated name of the party and the presence/absence of automatic recording as a facsimile image to the facsimile equipment at the transfer destination, when fax is received during transfer mode. SOLUTION: When facsimile equipment FSI is called, a call originating telephone number detecting circuit 14 detects the call originating telephone number and displays the telephone number of a display part on an automatic answering telephone set. A CPU 1 is the central control part and controls the entire equipment according to the contents of a program stored in an ROM 2. Moreover, an SRAM 3 registers setting of an operator and the CPU 1 controls the equipment as a whole, while watching the registered contents in the SRAM 3 as well. An original is read by a contact sensor(CS) 9, encoded through a read control gate array 10 and stored in an image memory 13. Stored images are compounded and outputted by an LBP 12.
