The ink reservoir (1) has a chamber (2) which is filled with ink (3) provided on its underside with a syphon ink outlet (4) having a cylindrical wall section (6) projecting into the ink reservoir from the ink delivery opening, fitted with a cooperating cap (8) for defining a suction opening at the base of the ink reservoir, either or both provided as an injection moulded plastics component.
