PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which allows the transmission source of a print job to be canceled to recognize that the print job is to be canceled and also can notify the transmission source that the print job has to be resent. SOLUTION: When a reset operation or a power-off operation is performed from a control panel (or a host computer) (902), a job stored in a page buffer is recognized according to a job management table (905), and the transmission source (host computer) of the print job stored in the table is notified that the print job is to be eliminated (canceled) (908). Also, the transmission source of a print job in the middle of being currently printed and outputted (906) is notified that the print job is to be eliminated and also of the number of already printed and outputted pages in addition (907 and 908). |
