PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for video retrieval wherein the need of explicit input is eliminated by using history information recording user's video operation and re-retrieval and re-sequencing can be performed by using important video information related to an objective video, and provide a record medium recording a video retrieval program. SOLUTION: The retrieval result from retrieval part 30 is displayed on a display part 50 through an arrangement part 40, and the user uses an operation part 60 to operate the retrieval result, and this operation is recorded as history information in a history part 70, and an information extraction part 90 uses information related to video out of the user's operation history recorded in the history part 70 to extract video information, and an information discrimination part 100 uses information related to operations, which the user performed, out of the user's operation history recorded in the history part 70 to discriminate the degree of importance of video information extracted by the information extraction part 90 and gives this degree of importance to each video information and re-inputs it to the retrieval part 30.
