<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate maintenance of a computer system at a remote site by using an electronic mail and to allow a user to effectively use its time for other tasks without waiting for maintenance processing. SOLUTION: When a CPU 41 receives a mail from a firewall server, the CPU 41 checks transmission address. When the address is a designated specific address for maintenance processing, the CPU 41 executes time designation and a command for maintenance processing written in the mail on the basis of a communication protocol designated by an operating system OS program stored in a storage device 47 and writes the result of the maintenance processing to a transmission buffer. Then the CPU 41 allows a communication control section 46, a LAN and the firewall server to form the contents of the transmission buffer as a mail and to return the mail to a maintenance terminal computer that is sender via a communication line.</p> |
