PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform the relighting of a liquid crystal projection at the time of the instantaneous power failure by performing lighting of plural pieces of light sources selectively and lighting other selected light sources at the time of the instantaneous power failure. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal projector is constituted of a power source 11 supplying electric power to power sources for driving light sources and a light source lighting control circuit 81 performing ON/OFF controls of a power block 21 for driving light sources which supplies electric power to the light sources. Moreover, light sources of present selected lighting are stored in a memory 51 and, at the time of the instantaneous power failure, light source lighting control signals B1 to B4 are outputted from the light source lighting control circuit 81 to other selected light sources.
