摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time and labor in the case of calibration of a display characteristic measurement device for a CRT. SOLUTION: In the case of calibrating a display characteristic measurement device 1, a color display device 4 of a measured object applies white light emission to a calibration chart to display a prescribed calibration pattern, an image pickup device 2 picks up the image to capture image data (luminance data). A control section 33 uses the image data and the calibration data stored in a calibration data storage section 34 to calculate a display characteristic and discriminates whether or not an error of the calculation result is within a prescribed permissible range. When the measured error is within a permissible range, the calibration data are set as new calibration data for measurement, and when the measured error is at the outside of the permissible range, calibration processing to newly set calibration data is conducted. When the measurement within a prescribed error range is possible by using known calibration data, the calibration processing can be omitted by using the calibration data.
