PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a water pressure test from the outflow side as it is by providing an opening/closing member for opening or closing a bypass passage connecting the inflow side and outflow side of a check valve to detour the check valve. SOLUTION: This water stop cock 1 is installed on a pipe together with a meter, and water pressure is applied from the outflow side for a water pressure test after the installation work is completed. A ball 9 is set to a water passing state in this case, and a needle 45 is rotated to open a branch passage 41. Water flows into a valve chamber 7 from an expansion pipe 19 via a communication passage 23, a large-diameter section 18b, a communication passage 39 and a branch passage 41 and flows to the primary side through a second passage 9b and a passage 9a of the ball 9. A passage connecting the primary side and the secondary side by detouring a check valve 25 is completed, and water pressure can be applied from the secondary side (outflow side) for the water pressure test.
