PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new boiling water reactor containment vessel capable of preventing a damage of a vacuum breaking device caused by a swelling phenomenon. SOLUTION: In this reactor containment vessel, the inside of the primary containment vessel 1 is divided into upper and lower parts by a diaphragm floor 4, and a dry well 5 is formed in the upper part of the diaphragm floor 4 and a pressure suppression room 6 is formed in the lower part thereof, and a vacuum breaking device 10 for relieving the pressure inside the pressure suppression room 6 to the dry well 5 side is installed on the diaphragm floor 4 side. Thus, even if a swelling phenomenon is generated in the pressure suppression room 6, a damage to the vacuum breaking device 10 can be prevented effectively.
