The foamable plastic is in the form of a bar of thermoplastic plastic incorporating a blowing agent. An Independent claim is made for a process for using the foamable plastic in which a plastic bar is heated progressively from one end to fluidize and initiate expansion due to the blowing agent. The material is then fed through a nozzle to a point of use where it cools and solidifies in an expanded state.
