PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the smoothness of the top of barrier ribs and enhance the strength of the barrier ribs to prevent the breakage of the barrier rib in its sealing by forming a panel from an upper layer and lower layer having different compositions, and setting the relation between the softening point of the lower composition and the softening point of the upper layer composition to a specified condition. SOLUTION: A thick film pattern (barrier rib) composition is formed by laminating an upper layer composition and lower layer composition having different components. Both the compositions comprise glass frit forming a fusing base body, and aggregates and pigments to be contained as occasion demands. When the softening point of the lower layer composition it Ts1, and the softening point of the upper layer composition is Ts2, each component of the upper layer composition and lower layer compositor is set so that the relation between the both satisfies the condition of 3 deg.C<=Ts1-Ts2<=25 deg.C, more desirably, 7 deg.C<=Ts1-Ts2<= deg.C. When the thickness of the lower layer composition is h1, and the thickness of the upper layer composition is h2, the both preferably satisfy the condition of 0.04<=(h2/(h1+h2))<=0.4.
