Wear resistant calibrating die for producing plastic profiles, is made from aluminum bronze

The die is made from a multicomponent aluminum bronze. An Independent claim is made for a process for producing the calibrating die by scanning the functional metal surface (1) with a carbon dioxide or Nd-YAD (solid state) laser beam (2) and overlapping the scanning paths. The beam remelts the surface to a depth of 0.2-1.0mm and reacts with process gases, e.g. nitrogen, oxygen or carbon dioxide.
