PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute optical axis regulation of a light source without using a cat's optical system. SOLUTION: The exit optical axis of an optical pickup is regulated by reflecting the light emitted from the light source 1 by a reflection mirror 6 arranged at the reference plane of the optical pickup via a movable mirror 4, introducing the reflected light from the reflection mirror 6 toward the light source 1 and turning the movable mirror 4. The device has a detecting means 13 for detecting the drive current supplied to the light source 1 and a control means 12 for controlling the intensity of the light emitted from the light source 1 constant. The exit optical axis is regulated by turning the movable mirror 4 in accordance with the change in the drive current detected by the detecting means 13 and, therefore, the need for the cat's optical system is eliminated.
