PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gain promoter for animals capable of maintaining normal enteric bacterial flora, rapidly increasing body weights and improving a feed efficiency ratio and disease prevention by containing a culture material of Clostridium buytyricum as an effective ingredient. SOLUTION: This gain promoter for animals contains a culture product or spores of Clostridium butyricum and an excipient such as corn starch. The Clostridium butyricum is preferably Clostridium butyricum NIP1020 strain (FERM BP-5794) or Clostridium butyricum NIP1021 strain (FERM BP-5795). The amount of the culture product or spores of the Clostridium butyricum to be added to the excepient is preferably 1-0.01 in weight ratio to 1 of the excipient when the culture product is used as an effective ingredient. |
