PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compacted shifter operation mechanism in the transmission of a tiller. SOLUTION: An operation section which is used for shifter shafts 13, 14 and is disposed between a speed change lever 7 and the shifter shaft 13, 14 comprises a plate-like travel operation plate 32 and a rotary operation plate 21 which are slid to operate the shifter shafts 13, 14 for travel and rotary, respectively. The shifter shaft 14 for the travel is used for changing the travel speed of the frame 5, and the shifter shaft 13 for the rotary is also used for changing the rotation speed of the tilling rotary 4. Both the operation plates 32, 21 are sequentially arranged in the vertical direction along the speed change panel 12 in a close state.
