PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method for setting (fixing) a protein fiber for which various processing techniques for natural fibers have existed for a lay time, synthetic and chemical fibers have been developed, their easy care properties have been widely admitted, the demand is increased also in natural fibers, a need for the same processing as that of synthetic fiber is raised in change of surface and luster and a fiber capable of carrying out such processing is modified. SOLUTION: In order to provide a protein fiber being one of natural fibers with ease care properties, lithium bromide is used as a means for imparting setting properties equal to or higher than conventional setting properties. By using lithium bromide, durability of embossing and wrinkle processing being change of surface by treating especially wool fiber is improved. Luster processing by heat calendering is enabled. The occurrence of pill being a defect of wool fiber can be prevented by processing with lithium bromide. When a wool fiber is treated with lithium bromide, the fiber causes swelling and shrinkage, an article having a touch of dry feeling and repulsion which has never existed conventionally can be made. Processing with patterned change of surface can be carried out by partially treating a fabric with lithium bromide. |
