The present invention relates to a new metallocene having the formula (I) where M is a metal of group IVb, Vb or VIb of the Periodic Table of the Elements, in particular Ti, Zr and Hf, X are identical or different and are each a hydrogen atom, a C1-C40-hydrocarbon group such as a C1-C10-alkyl, C1-C10-alkoxy, C6-C10-aryl, C6-C10-aryloxy, C2-C10-alkenyl, C7-C40-arylalkyl, C7-C40-alkylaryl or C8-C40-arylalkenyl group, an OH group, a halogen atom or a pseudohalogen such as nitrile, R1 to R5 are identical or different and, independently of one another, are each a hydrogen atom, a C1-C30-hydrocarbon radical such as C1-C20-alkyl or C6-C20-aryl, or a carbon-containing radical having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms and one or more heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of O, N, Si, Ge and P, where in each case two adjacent radicals R4 and/or R1 together with the carbon atoms connecting them can form a ring system, E1 is a carbon, silicon, germanium or tin atom, preferably a carbon atom, and q is 0 or 1, preferably 1.
